Scraps Hoodie

At the end of October, I was approached by a very dear and sweet Mama to make a “Scrappy Hoodie” sweater for her LO. I was honored that she asked me, and jumped at the chance to knit-up a sweater for her.

The Hoodie would be comprised of 4 different colorways: Seaglass, Yggdrasil, Turning Leaves and Elements. All are colorways by the impecable artisan Morwenna of Mosaic Moon™.

I was challenged by the Hoodie. In many ways. Initially, I had 2 different patterns that I contemplated using. One was suggested by my client, and the other was a pattern I’d discovered while searching Ravelry. Ultimately, I combined the two to achieve a starting point, and the rest evolved pretty organically. It only took 4 skeins of wool to create a gorgeous work of art. =0)

I’m super-thrilled with the way it turned out! I’m building a stash of yarn to make one for each of my youngest Elflings… *quietly does the math in her head* …only 12 skeins and loads of knitting to go!

Christmas Custom 2

I made this Liath Macha pair in Toddler for a super-sweet Mama. Liath Macha is a new favorite colorway for me. I love it!

A long time ago in Ireland, there was a hero named Cúchulainn. He rode a chariot pulled by two awesome horses: Liath Macha (“grey of Macha”) and Dub Sainglend (“black of Saingliu”). It’s a bit of a mystery who gave the great horses to Cúchulainn, but it might have been either Macha herself, or her sister, Morrigan.

Melon Eloise Onesie Complete =0)

I recently completed a Custom Eloise Onesie for the sweet dd of an awesome customer. =0)

The pattern worked up beautifully on some gorgeous Melon-colored worsted merino the customer purchased on etsy, then had sent to me.

I knit a sweet little matching headband to go with it. =0)

Adventure With Morwenstow

I have recently begun knitting a custom pair of Longies in the gorgeous colorway Morwenstow, by Mosaic Moon. Previously, I’d never been super-partial to the colorway. Yes, I’ll be the first to admit that it’s extremely lovely, girly, and wonderful, but it was never my first pick when I’d have a chance in an MM Co-op. /blush …I guess I’ve just always been more likely to lean towards colorways from a sombre/neutral pallete, despite being the mother of FOUR girls.

What have I been thinking??!! Morwenstow is Ultra-Fab! I’m in love! <3
